“When you take the time to actually listen, with humility, to what people have to say, it’s amazing what you can learn. Especially if the people who are doing the talking also happen to be children.”

 - Greg Mortenson

The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS), formed in 1927, provides training and then accreditation to doctors who become surgeons in Australia and New Zealand.

Once a doctor has completed their training as a surgeon, they will sit for the RACS Fellowship exam. When this exam is passed, they will be admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, and be able to use FRACS after their name. To continue to use FRACS throughout their surgical career, a surgeon must comply with the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program of the College.

RACS Surgeons are highly qualified and up-to-date with the latest developments in their area of skill. They have considerable knowledge and give the best possible care to their patients.
